Injecting Insulin - インスリン注射 -

Mrs. Miller:  Hi, Jane. I’m here to pick up my new prescription. I believe it’s been changed to  insulin?
Jane: Correct, so here's everything you need. Here's your insulin kit and this is a guide on how to prepare  your insulin.
Mrs. Miller: Step 1.  Roll insulin bottle between palms to mix.
Step 2.  Put air into the syringe.
Step 3.  Push needle through the rubber top of bottle.
Step 4. Turn the bottle upside down.
Step 5. Pull the plunger of the syringe to get the right dose.
Step 6.  Pull needle out of the bottle.
 Step 7. Inject the insulin.
Jane: And Remember, always wash your hands with soap and water before your medication.
Mrs. Miller: Reading the directions while looking at the pictures makes it easier to understand.

Now, let me show the 4 steps to injecting  insulin into your abdomen. Allow me to use this teddy bear to demonstrate.
First, be sure to clean the area with an alcohol swab. Then hold the syringe like a pencil.
Second, gently pinch your skin and then slowly inject the needle at a 90-degree angle.
Third, let go of the pinched skin.
And finally, push the plunger and slowly inject the insulin. When completed, remove the needle at the same angle.

Mrs. Miller: Do I need to inject on the same spot?
Jane: You can choose different sites for the injection. And use this chart to keep tract of your injection sites.  When finished, put the used needle in this box for disposal.
Mrs. Miller:

Thanks for being so clear Jane.

Jane: It’s no problem at all.

Think about it
